Yesterday we got two consecutive cast news for Season 2 of The Flash.

First, TV Line announced that Violet Beane has been cast as Jesse Chambers Aka Jesse Quick.

They described her character as "a brilliant but quirky college student who gets caught up in the battle between The Flash and Season 2 Big Bad Zoom."

It's a pretty thin description that doesn't give up a lot of informations on her character. We don't know how she will be involved in this battle between Zoom and Flash and if she will get her powers at one point.

Indeed, in the comics Jesse Quick is the daughter of Johnny Quick and Liberty Belle, two members of the Justice Society during the Golden Age. She possess thereby, both superhuman strength and speed thanks to her parents

She also know the formula of the Speed Force allowing her to draw energy from it.

The particularity here is that those three heroes come from Earth-Two. Thus, one might ask if Jesse will be a character from Earth-Two or from our reality.

This addition also raise the question of the multiplication of speedsters that could become a problem.

Then, Comicbook announced exclusively that Demore Barnes was cast as Firestorm villain, Tokamak.

While, Henry Hewitt is a villain in the comics, they revealed a different take on his personna:

"Henry Hewitt is a charming, but cocky scientist who was affected by the same Particle Accelerator explosion that created the Flash. When Caitlin Snow (Danielle Panabaker) recruits him to join the team at S.T.A.R. Labs, Hewitt jumps at the opportunity to fulfill his destiny as a powerful meta-human."

Indeed, he will be a new addition for Team Flash and according to this description a powerful one.

In the comics, Henry Hewitt was the CEO of Hewitt Corporation. He wanted to reproduce the accident that created Firestorm. Thus, he kidnapped Senator Reilly's daughter, Lorraine and transformed her into a new hero, Firehawk. Then, he did the same thing to himself but wore an atomic containment suit.

Firehawk have basically the same powers as Firestorm but not as powerful.

I don't see Hewitt go full-armor on the show but he could ultimately become a villain. Also, this open the door to an apparition of Firehawk. Only time will tell.

In other news, Malese Jow will reprise her role as Linda Park and in extra, a new Flash poster ! Enjoy !
