In a new interview, Suicide Squad star Margot Robbie told NY Daily News that she came close to playing Susan Storm in Fox's not so popular Fantastic Four reboot. Luckily for her (and for us) she lost the role to Kate Mara, allowing her to play the beloved Harley Quinn instead. Here's what the star had to say:

I didn't really resonate with the script, and I haven't seen the movie, so I don't really know how it turned out different from the page. But I had a great time meeting with the director (Josh Trank) and I really enjoyed that.

In the interview, Robbie also spoke highly of Jared Leto's performance as the Clown Prince of Crime. She even admitted that she was scared to go up to him on set.

At first, it was kind of confronting (to be up close) but now I'm so used to it, I think if I ever saw him without makeup now I would be really confused. Actually, I saw him without makeup once and I was actually petrified of him. I was too scared to go up and didn't know who the person was, and when he got back into his makeup, I was far more comfortable.

Well, could you blame her for being afraid of a guy who looks as menacing as Leto's Joker? In or out of makeup, I'd be terrified too.

Suicide Squad is set to hit theaters August 5th 2016.
