Michael Fassbender has been involved with the long rumored Assassin's Creed film adaptation for a while now... so long in fact that it began to feel like the movie might not even happen at all.
Joyfully, today we've been gifted with the irrevocable proof that the movie is indeed happening and that it's going to rock.
It appears to show Fassbender in full Assassin's garb playing a character known only as Callum Lynch.
Lynch discovers he is a descendant of the secret Assassins society through unlocked genetic memories that allow him to relive the adventures of his ancestor, Aguilar, in 15th Century Spain. After gaining incredible knowledge and skills he’s poised to take on the oppressive Knights Templar in the present day.
Sounds like the movie won't be showing us a live-action version of any established in-game characters. However there have been rumors that Fassbender's new addition may slot in to the canon of the games, potentially created an expanded universe across multiple platforms. Exciting!

Is our current Magneto about to break the trend of 'not as good as the game' adaptations? It sure looks like it!
