Happy birthday to comedian and everyman Jack Black! He turns 46 today.

The funnyman has been in the business for far longer than most people realize, with his first credited role happening in 1984. Black then went on to gain fame by forming the comedy rock duo Tenacious D, which he parlayed into numerous roles in film, including School of Rock, Mars Attacks!, and Shallow Hal. But Black also displayed some dramatic chops as well, with roles in thriller Enemy of the State and King Kong.

Black has been a busy guy this year with new show The Brink premiering this season, recurring roles on various series, and continuing voicework for the animated Kung Fu Panda franchise.

His next film, Goosebumps, is based on the beloved book series by R.L. Stine, whom Black will be playing in the movie. It's out in theaters on October 16th.

Happy birthday, Jack Black!
