Happy birthday to actor and singer Billy Boyd, who turns 47 today!
The actor is best known for his role as Peregrin "Pippin" Took in the Lord of the Rings movies and voicing the role for companion video games, vaulting to worldwide recognition with The Fellowship of the Ring. Since then, he's starred in a broad spectrum of film, from sweeping epic Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World to Macbeth.
Boyd is also an accomplished singer and musician, lending his original songs and voice to the soundtrack of the Lord of the Rings trilogy and a reprisal in the Hobbit franchise. His band, Beecake, for which he's the frontman, has released multiple albums and EPs.
His next film, AmStarDam, will be released later this year.
