Prometheus came out in 2012, but for a lot of fans of the Alien franchise, it feels like we've been waiting a lot longer. Rumors of a sequel started very soon after the movie came out, and Prometheus left us on more than one cliffhanger - we saw the first Xenomorph being born, we saw Dr. Shaw taking off with a very injured David 8 with the intention of finding out more about who created them, and... they were both pretty stranded.
Finally, three years later, Ridley Scott has confirmed that Prometheus 2 will be his next movie, even though he has several projects to work on at the moment, including the anticipated Alien 5 and Blade Runner 2.
Scott let the news slip in a recent interview with Empire magazine about his most recent film, The Martian: “I was already on to my next movie! I was starting to look for locations for my next movie, which is Prometheus 2.”
It isn't all good news, however. Scott also has recently stated that he won't include Xenomorphs in the movie, instead focusing on a new alien.
