Binge-watching cartoons at home is probably one of the best childhood activities ever. If you are familiar with American TV; Cartoon Network, Disney Channel and Nickelodeon are no strangers to you. However, do you know that there are plenty of shows we watch that don't originate from United States?
So, here are four popular animated TV series you probably didn't know aren't American!
#1 Rolie Polie Olie (1998-2004)
Rolie Polie Olie is a animated children's series that originally aired on Disney Playhouse. It is produced by Nelvana and Sparx*, making it a Canadian-French-American production. The series follows the lovely stories and amusing adventures of Olie Polie with his friends and family.
Do you remember this adorable robot-themed cartoon? If not, you may be able to watch it again as it is still airing on Disney Junior today!
#2 Totally Spies! (2001-2014)
Totally Spies! is a French and Canadian animated series. It has been aired worldwide on various networks including the Cartoon Network, Disney Channel and Nickelodeon. The series follows the teenage life and adventures of Sam, Clover and Alex as they fight crimes, solving crises and lead a double life, working for World Organization of Human Protection.
Unfortunately, this much-loved animated series ended its run in 2014.
#3 Winx Club (2004-Present)
Winx Club is an Italian animated series directed, created and produced by Iginio Straffi. It is an action/fantasy combined with comedic elements. Last on this list is Oggy and the Cockroaches, an animated comed from France. It is produced by Xilam and Gaumont Film Company. The series follows the life of Oggy, which is made miserable by the three mischievous cockroaches Joey, Dee Dee and Marky.
