Well, OH MY GOD! There are so many awesome films coming out next year! The list of movies are giving me the chills, I still have goosebumps! So, let's see the top 10 most anticipated films of 2016! Oh, and don't be surprised if these are a lot of superhero films, because so many are coming out!
Starting off the list is a Fox superhero film that is like another superhero solo film trying to redeem themselves because of a bad Wolverine movie made by Fox is also doing this year, is Gambit. Being played by Channing Tatum, who started out as a joke and through the years has become a much better actor and at this point, I want him to be in a superhero movie in some way, shape or form, because in this day in age, all A-listers have to. Tatum will hopefully bring a sense of humor to the character. We don't know much about the movie, but, we're in for a ride.
9. The Incredibles 2
Recently announced with some other Pixar films, this one my most anticipated for the year, sorry Dorry. The Incredibles was a great movie, and really, Pixar has never let us down. Disney controls Marvel, Lucasfilm, and Pixar, and since those 3 have been owned by Disney, they have been doing just great. There is also a great rumor going around that in fact, SPOILER, Jack-Jack is the villain of the movie. If this is true, this just be the right ride for me, because, c'mon, that's awesome!
8. X-Men: Apocalypse
Yea, looking at the picture just explains why this movie is not higher on the list. Sure, Days of Future Past was pretty awesome, but just that look, if they ruin Apocalypse alone, that will ruin the whole movie.
There is a but because this film could turn out good or bad and we hope for the best. With all the negative feedback of how Apocalypse looks, Fox has to do something, or maybe they know what they are doing, folks! I'm not exactly sure but we will just have to wait and see.
7. Fantastic Beasts & Where to Find Them
Warner Brothers has DC but they need back there Harry Potter! I remember Harry Potter was so popular, especially between Deathly Hallows Part One and Two. The book sales sky-rocketted! After the epic finale, after a few weeks, the buzz just completely died and I remember it very well, and I'm sure most of you do too, it was only four years ago, we're not that old. I have seen nothing die off quicker and it's a shame especially since Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 is sitting at the #7 highest movie of all time! Now it's a great movie to watch on cable TV. It is now very good to see the franchise light up again but not reboot it but take a spin on it!
6. Suicide Squad
The third film in the DCEU is the Suicide Squad! I loved it the way Arrow handled it, it could've become a bigger part of the story if it wasn't for this movie so hopefully it will be good. I mean, the trailer was spectacular, people we're COMPARING it to Batman v Superman. I love Deadshot in the comics and Arrow, along with Captain Boomerang. I've always wanted Killer Croc to be in a movie, it's in a different way than I thought but okay! With the Joker and Harley Quinn; I'll give it a try.
5. Star Wars: Rogue One
I can't believe I would ever put a Star Wars film at #5 but it has a lot of competition. Plus, it's an anthology film, we don't know how these will be handled but I have so much faith in Lucasfilm, as much as Marvel; which is ironic because they are both owned under Disney. This movie will solve the mystery of how the Death Star plans are stolen. I talked about this film and speculated in great detail in my article about the anthology films, go check it out!
4. Doctor Strange
This and #3 was a hard one, but we've seen so much goodness from #3 that it's hard to resist. Doctor Strange is probably in my top 10 Marvel superheroes. He's a very cool character. Kevin Feige talked about the magic that he will bring into the MCU and how it will be a different kind of film, just like Guardians of the Galaxy, The Winter Soldier, and Ant-Man especially. He will make the MCU a cooler place, and I just really want to see Dormammu!
That's right bitches! Deadpool looks exactly right out of the comic book! Ryan Reynolds is reprising and fixing his role of Deadpool, this time in a much, much better way! It is also fixing Colossus because he looks a lot better. This the first REAL R-rated superhero film so let's see how this goes. Ryan said this is the only time he will play Deadpool, but the box office will disagree.
2. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice
We as a fan base have been waiting to see Batman and Superman on the same screen, let alone FIGHT Frank Miller-style for decades. This is the movie that will start of the DCEU or DCCU (whatever you want to call it). We will see the two most famous comic book heroes fight alongside with Wonder Woman and see the beginning of the Justice League. This will be ONE of the best superhero vs. superhero fights of the year, maybe even ever, but not the best... it is not what #1 will be.
1. Captain America: Civil War
That's right kids, Civil War is the movie I want to see more than all the other ones on the list! Marvel has been leading up and developing their characters for this fight! This is not like Batman v Superman where it started a cinematic universe but embraces what awesomeness we now have. We get to see Cap and Tony butt heads with their teammates. It's like Avengers 2.5 because we don't just see Cap, Winter Soldier, Black Widow, and Falcon like we expected from a third movie coming off The Winter Soldier but we get Cap, Bucky, Falcon, Agent 13, Hawkeye, Iron Man, War Machine, Black Widow, Black Panther, Vision, Scarlett Witch, Black Panther, General Ross, Bruce Banner, Crossbones, Baron Zemo, Agent Carter... woah, and don't forget... Spider-Man! Captain America and Iron Man already have know each other for so long and they have been developed and not to do so much comparing to DC but Batman and Superman are meeting for the first time. There is so much here, I'm so excited!
