With his striking blue eyes, incredible likability and great acting, X-Men's young Beast is taking off in the industry! Can you believe he's been acting for almost 20 years? At the age of 7, he made his professional debut in the 1996 movie Intimate Relations. Hoult then worked in the world of TV for several years until the commercial success of About a Boy. It catapulted him into stardom in 2002 playing Marcus, the 12 year old who forms an unusual friendship with incessant bachelor, Will (Hugh Grant).
At 14, he continued to feature in movies such as Wah-Wah, playing a young boy set in 1960s Swaziland during the British Empire in Africa, and The Weather Man, playing the son of Nicolas Cage who is going through a mid-life crisis. By 2007, Hoult returned television, starring in the British teen drama, Skins, where he grew in popularity amongst generation Y and even gained a nomination for a Walkers Home Grown Talent Award Award. After that ended in 2009, he appeared in Tom Ford's A Single Man that starred Colin Firth and Julianne Moore.
The year of 2010 was a great year for Hoult. He appeared in his first large-scale blockbuster, Clash of the Titans, and was nominated for the BAFTA Rising Star Award, voted on by the British public and was announced as Beast in the X-Men spin off, X-Men: First Class. During filming X-Men, Hoult began dating his co-star Jennifer Lawrence but they separated due to conflicting schedules.
The X-Men franchise strengthened Hoult's presence in Hollywood and he became a massive rising star. He continues to firmly cement himself with leading roles in films such as Jack and the Giant Slayer and the unconventional zombie romantic comedy Warm Bodies. In 2015, he starred in the action film Mad Max: Fury Road as Nux, and reprised his role as Beast in X-Men: Days of Future Past.
Hoult is now lined up for a few movies: the dark comedy Kill Your Friends, the futuristic romantic drama Equals and action thriller Collide, and the highly anticipated X-Men: Apocalypse! We're expecting great things from this young talent!
