Wes Craven, who we’ve regarded with love and admiration since the seventies for his gruesome filmography, has died today at the age of 76. He had been suffering brain cancer for a number of years.

For horror fans, this is quite a blow. Craven gave us unforgettable films such as “the Hills Have Eyes” (1977), “A Nightmare On Elm Street” (1984), as well as the entire “Scream” franchise, to name a few.

Rest in peace, Wes Craven. You will be dearly missed.
