Finally, after years of waiting with bated breath, Milla Jovovich is returning as the kick-ass zombie-slayer Alice in Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, and you can get your first glimpse at her new badass look like right here.
The 39-year-old actress gave fans a sneak preview of her behind-the-scenes make-up test on Instagram, and it looks like Alice has had a rather nasty run-in with Umbrella's T-Virus abominations.
Director Paul W. S. Anderson - the writer-director responsible for bringing Capcom's legendary video game series to the big screen - snuck in for a look at his battle-hardened heroine.
Anderson has said he plans for the final film to "come full circle," bringing back characters, themes and the environment of the Hive from the very first movie. Does that mean we can expect a return of the fan-favorite laser death trap?!
Best. Death. Ever.
Just a Flesh Wound
It's reassuring to see production up and running, after worrying delays put the project in potential jeopardy. The movie was initially planned to be released on September 12th, 2014, later pushed back to September 2nd, 2016, and finally January 27th, 2017.
Production complications arose when Jovovich became pregnant with her second child, though now she's recovered and ready to slay the undead hordes. Needless to say, I couldn't be happier that...
Alice Is Back!
Also confirmed for this epic conclusion is Ali Larter as Claire Redfield, Wentworth Miller as Chris Redfield, Bingbing Li as Ada Wong, Sienna Guillory as Jill Valentine and Johann Urb as Leon S. Kennedy.
Providing all goes to plan this time round, Resident Evil: The Final Chapter infects theaters on January 27th, 2017.
