It's September 1st and Potterheads everywhere know that means it's time to feel insane jealousy over fictional characters attending fictional school. Those still holding out for their Hogwarts letters, however, see it as the day young witches and wizards hop on the Hogwarts Express and head back to school!

Not only will they get to enjoy the mountain of treats supplied by the Hogwarts Express trolley, but they might be meeting some of their lifelong best friends.

From running through Platform 9 3/4, to taking the boats up to the castle for the first time, to finally getting sorted into their home for the next seven years, everyone who enjoyed the series knows how incredibly important this first day at Hogwarts can be.

Since it's been nearly two decades since Harry and the gang left school, it's about time another Potter graced the hallowed halls of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

This morning, J.K. Rowling took to social media to (jokingly) send out her well wishes to the eldest Potter son, James Sirius Potter, on his first day at Hogwarts.

Considering her dedicated following, it's no surprise that fans of the series replied saying that the 11-year-old wizard gave a quick "hi" to those in the area. Rowling then stated that they should say "hi" back, granted they're not interjecting on any young friendships.

The Harry Potter author then expressed concerns that perhaps James might feel overwhelmed by all of the attention...

Even though my school-going days are done, I still can't help but reminisce a bit and feel warm with these sentimental back-to-school feelings. Leave it to J.K. Rowling to make me feel so warm and fuzzy inside.

Best of luck, James Potter! Peeves will be so excited to have another member of the Potter dynasty to mess around with.
