The wait for a highly anticipated game can be arduous. When it comes to Mass Effect Andromeda, that is most certainly an apt description. The Mass Effect trilogy is some of the most fun I've ever had with a game. Each title has its merits and Bioware have created the Star Wars of our generation just for gamers! The wait for the return of this franchise, is extremely difficult.

Therefore, I thought we should take a look at a few games to play while you wait. There are so many titles with similar elements that could really engage you before Mass Effect 4's release date. After all, there's no better way to wait for a game than to simply play more in the process!

4 Games to Play While You Wait for Bioware's Mass Effect Andromeda!

Now, these are just games that I think have similar aspects to Bioware's action-RPG trilogy. If you have any additional suggestions, I'd love to hear them in the comments below! There are so many games out there for us all to enjoy, hearing the name of one from someone else can introduce you to something you've been missing your whole life!

The Witcher 3

Let me say this, in order to enjoy The Witcher 3, you need no prior contact with the other 2. This RPG is extraordinary. It's filled with rich characters, a fantastic combat system, literally hundreds of hours of content, and an RPG progression system to please any Mass Effect fans. The Witcher 3 is already in the running for Game of the Year - even though so far Bloodborne has that award in the bag. That is if [Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain](tag:2683985) doesn't blow my mind!

Deus Ex: Human Revolution

This is was surprisingly one of my favourite games of 2011. Square Enix brought back a series that had been suffering for years and made it relevant once again. The dystopian future of Deus Ex has various thematic similarities to Mass Effect. It's a deep and satisfying action-RPG. It's one of the few games that I've thoroughly enjoyed replaying and I advise anyone who hasn't played a Deus Ex game to try Human Revolution and the first in the series. A great way to prepare for Mass Effect Andromeda.

Dark Souls

Dark Souls has a surprising amount of similarities with Mass Effect. The two are also marketed at very different kinds of gamers though, but I believe that a lot of people that shy away from the Souls series can find something amazing! Dark Souls is a surprisingly deep RPG. It immerses you in a land of unparalleled hostility, fraught with danger, beasts and dragons. It will challenge you and keep you begging for more. Dark Souls was an accidental purchase on my part and is now one of my favourite games of all time!

Kingdom of Amalur: Reckoning

This ridiculously titled game was one of the surprise hits of 2012. I recall playing a demo on the Xbox 360 and not really being grabbed. But with the insane price cuts this game has had in the past, I bought it somewhere along the way. While Kingdoms of Amalur can be played as a button mashing adventure only careful planning and use of the RPG elements will let you finish the game. It's a rewarding adventure and one that fans waiting for Mass Effect 4 should try!

Bioware Products Like Mass Effect 4

Additionally, I thought I'd throw in a few of Bioware's past titles that are still worth your attention! Dragon Age: Origins is one of the best RPGs of the last 6 years. The characters are indicative of everything that Bioware does well. It's huge, so much fun and a really rewarding game. The same goes for Baldur's Gate and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. SO MANY GAMES!!!
