That's right, you read the title correctly. The Flash Season 1 never existed.

I know what some of you are thinking... It feels like you were just punched in the heart really hard.

Too dark too soon?
Too dark too soon?

You had your whole life wrapped around this show and here I come in, a new creator, just to smash what you've been holding on to for so long.

Okay, so, here goes....

At the end of the Flash season 1, Eddie Thawne killed himself, which therefore means that Eobard Thawne never killed Barry Allen’s mother, which means that Barry Allen never became the Flash. Eddie Thawne never killed himself because Eobard Thawne never came back as the Reverse Flash to cause disruption, but this probably also means that Eddie married Iris, and therefore Eobard was never born.

But, due to the way time works, Barry Allen had to become the Flash at some point without his mother’s death as incentive (Because, I mean really... We had to get the Flash). Dr Wells’ Particle Accelerator was therefore finally developed eventually, and erupted, therefore affecting Barry Allen, making him, the Flash. (How else did Eobard Thawne (who at this point, we’ve determined never existed) know that Harrison Wells was going to create the Particle Accelerator, unless Wells eventually created it?)

So here’s where the paradox occurs…

The Flash Season 1 never happened.

Eobard never existed because Eddie never killed himself, so he and Iris got married, because Barry never lived with Iris to grow emotionally close to her. The Flash didn’t exist until later on in time, but at this point, it was too late for Eobard to ever exist due to a genealogic disruption, so there was no one to come back and kill Barry’s mother.

What does this mean? This means that Michael Scofield and Lincoln Burrows are going to have to wait a while to become supervillains.
