For those who don't know, or haven't seen yet today The 5th Wave Trailer was released onto the internet and to be honest I am unbelievably excited. As a big fan of the book I have been waiting for this trailer for a while and now that it has been released I have to say I am even more excited for the release of this movie.
If anyone doesn't know what The 5th Wave is about it follows a 16 year old girl named Cassie Sullivan who is on the run and trying to stay alive after four waves of increasingly deadly attacks that have left the Earth decimated. Cassie is on the run and desperately trying to save her younger brother.
Now after the release of this trailer I hope that people start getting as excited about this movie as I am. It's not just some new young adult genre film, it has an interesting and exciting story that is centred around family and human nature. The book is the first of a trilogy, the second book is out already and the third and final in the series is to be released next year. So if The 5th Wave does well we could see another trilogy of young adult books being made and to me it seems like the right time, with The Hunger Games series finishing in November, (Which I am in no way ready for. My emotions can't handle this) and The 5th Wave being released in January 2016, maybe this is the perfect time for a new and different trilogy and adventure to start. I honestly loved this book so much, and can't wait to read the second and third. It is exciting and the characters are engaging. And while reading the book every second I thought how well it would work as a movie.
The trailer shows us about the whole world has been taken over by the invasion and states the first 4 waves, as it does on the blurb of the book. The trailer is clever showing enough to get you interested but doesn't give away too much.
The 5th Wave will be released in January 2016 and stars Chloe Grace Moretz, Nick Robinson, Alex Roe, Liev Schreiber, Ron Livingston and more.
