Remember when Michael Shannon set the world ablaze when he claimed that his character, General Zod, would have flippers in Batman Vs Superman: Dawn of Justice? Well luckily for everyone, he has back tracked his statement. With rumors flying around about who Zod would become, including Bizarro and Doomsday, the internet could not figure out why Zod would have flippers. Shannon's exact statement can be seen here:

“Somebody was asking me about this in New York and I made up some ridiculous bullshit answer about how my character Zod has flippers, and this went viral on the Internet or something and people have been asking me about that,”

No Flippers for Zod!

Fans everywhere where holding their breath in anticipation just waiting for this rumor to be confirmed false. The idea of Zod trans-mutating a flipper was just silly. General Zod would have went from an equal of Superman to a cuddly little penguin. All jokes aside I am very happy to hear that Zod's anatomy will stay the same as of right now.

Zod Won't be in Batman Vs Superman?

If you are familiar with the Batman Vs Superman: Dawn of Justice, you know that General Zod made a very brief appearance in the trailer. While his appearance was a little "dead" if you will, it still raised many questions. According to Michael Shannon, his role in Batman Vs Superman is nothing more than some voice over work that he did.

“I went over and did some voice-over stuff because it’s like that ghost thing. But I don’t know if I’m supposed to say that. I get very nervous,”

I loved General Zod as a character in Man of Steel and his return would be pretty awesome! Shannon also commented on the possibility of returning for future DC films, even if he has flippers!

"Maybe they should add it, I don’t know! Maybe in Part 3, Doomsday will have flipper hands. I mean, look—nothing would make me happier than to work with Zack [Snyder] again, he’s hysterical and he’s a lot of fun to work with,"

It seems that Shannon would be open to returning as he loves working with director Zack Snyder and he would also be a welcomed addition to future DC films!

Would you like Zod to return? Even if he has flippers?
