Something commonly found in nerd culture is "fan casting". I, personally, LOVE reading articles of people writing about their own little theories on plots and such about upcoming superhero movies. Since the culture of DC/ Marvel Cinematic Universes are becoming so popular, there's one thing you can bet your money on, and that's more and more Batman movies. Specifically, "Batfleck" movies. So here's a list of Batman/DC villains I think should come to the big screen, how they can be realistically incorporated into the plot of the already building DCCU, and who should play them! Let's go!
Willem Dafoe as Joker
First things first, you gotta start big, and who's bigger than the Joker? There have been plenty fan theories of how Jared Leto's Joker isn't really THE Joker, and I strongly agree. The theory is that Jared Leto's Joker is actually Jason Todd, a former Robin. Who in the comics was brutally murdered by the Joker, then resurrected by Ra's Al Ghul to become an anti-hero by the name of "Red Hood" (inspired by the Jokers first alter-ego from before he was the Joker).
So, as some would argue, that since the Joker killed Jason Todd...
... Why would he BECOME the Joker after his resurrection? And to that I would argue that he already kind of did in the comics, but he became an earlier version of the Joker (Red Hood). The logic is pretty sound. THEREFORE, there is a strong possibility that we may see a second, much older, Joker! Which I believe Willem Dafoe would perfectly look, sound, and act the part. I mean, we already got a glimpse of his potential from his role as the Green Goblin in the 2002 Spider-Man. So there's that.
Which leads us to:
Leonardo DiCaprio as Ra's Al Ghul
Ra's Al Ghul is an unavoidable character when it comes to anything DC. Not necessarily because of the character himself, but because of what he possesses... The Lazarus Pit.
Plus, Ra's Al Ghul is a very easy character to incorporate into the DCCU, because of the story behind the Joker killing Jason Todd, and his ressurection to become either Red Hood or Joker (depending on the path Batman vs. Superman decides to take).
Also, I chose Leo to play Ra's because of his overall phenomenal acting skills, AND the fact that I really think he has the eyebrows and hair for the part. Of course, it's about time for someone to give a live action Ra's the classic facial hair, and I think Leonardo would look spectacular with the chops.
Jeff Bridges as Deathstroke
Deathstroke is (arguably) the most bad-ass human being in all DC comics. Fans have been dying to see him on the big screen, and we got a taste of what it would be like on the fan-favorite series "Arrow", played by Manu Bennet. It's always a smart move to add a character that will cause a fan-freak! I personally would wait in line around the block just to see Deathstroke on screen! He could easily be incorporated by making him one of the test subjects the military has experimented on to build their metahuman soldiers. In the trailer for Suicide Squad, Amanda Waller says:
"It's taken some work, but I finally have them. The worst of the worst."
Now the indicating words would be "take some work" and "finally". She also says:
"I want to put together a task force of some of the most dangerous people on the planet."
So I'm thinking she's been at this for a while, and has tried to BUILD her own task force already, but had failed. Leaving the possibility that she has already tried making metahuman soldiers (Slade Wilson as the first test subject) but he was too advanced and escaped. Leaving the mercenary Deathstroke on the streets! Score for the nerds! And plus, do I have to say anything about the casting of Jeff Bridges? Look at him!
