The Flash is easily one of the best if not the best superhero TV show out there right now. I believe the love for this show is that it's not as grounded as other shows out there and still has that super quality to it that we love from the comics. The first season of The Flash had a amazing antagonist with the Reverse Flash but i wont go into detail as some may have not finished the series yet. It turns out however according to Variety that we may know who the main antagonist for season 2 will be as well as the voice. We all know that Zoom is Hunter Zolomon who in turn becomes the third Reverse Flash and who might you ask will be voicing the character?

That's right your worst nightmare Tony Todd A.K.A Candyman will be providing the voice of the Speed Demon Zoom. Here's what Variety reported about what executive producer Andrew Kreisberg had to say about Tony Todd for the role of Zoom.

“Last year, with the Reverse-Flash, we just modulated Tom Cavanagh’s voice, and this year we wanted to do something a little bit different,” executive producer Andrew Kreisberg tells Variety. “Part of the mystery of the season is who or what is underneath the Zoom outfit, and so we wanted to do something like James Earl Jones as Darth Vader — this iconic voice coming out of this mask. Last year, we thought of the Reverse-Flash as a speed warrior; this year, Zoom is like a speed demon, and no one does demon-voice better than Tony Todd.

It sounds like they are really going a lot darker for this season of The Flash with choosing Tony Todd to do the voice. If you're not too familiar with the man or his roles heres an example at just how menacing his voice can be. The video below will give you an idea at how dark Zoom might be set to be.

Its pretty terrifying i know, this movie caused so many nights of me just staying awake from fear. If Tony Todd's voice as a villain in the flash doesn't excite you than how about them comparing Zoom to Venom from Spider-man. They also go on to say that the mystery of who is Zoom will be more prolonged than the Reverse Flash in season one. What is motivating Zoom though to be a villain in this season though? You can find the answers in the excerpts below from what the executive producer had to say.

The Zoom outfit is much more organic than the Reverse-Flash suit. In a way, it’s hard to tell if it is a suit or alive… There’s no skin showing, for all you know there’s a robot underneath, or dark energy
like a horror movie — ‘who’s the killer? Who’s under the mask?
For us, the best villains are the ones who don’t have megalomaniacal ‘I want to rule the world’ motivations. Last year, the Reverse-Flash had a very simple goal which was ‘I just want to go home, and if people need to die or cities need to get wasted for me to get that, so be it.’ And Zoom has a very similar, personal goal this season… simple and easy to understand, and very primal. And just as with Wells last year, Zoom doesn’t care who gets hurt or what gets destroyed in the service of him getting his goal

In the comics Zoom is usually after Wally West who will also be making his appearance in The Flash as well as Jay Garrick. It should be interesting to see all three of these going up against Zoom. The real question many fans have been asking as well as speculating is just who is Zoom. I mean in the comics he is Hunter Zolomon but in the TV show will he really just be Zolomon? According to the executive producer there is no saying that will be the case

We have to service the entire audience, both the fans and the non-fans, and I think we’ve shown up until this point a great deal of respect and reverence for the source material, so that we always feel like we’re fulfilling the comic book fans’ expectations while also not spoon-feeding them stuff directly from the comics. So the story of Zoom and who and what he is… hopefully comic book fans will be happy because we’ve come up with a clever way to spin the tale, but that also makes it exciting for the people who aren’t as familiar with the comics and are just enjoying the show on its own terms.

I'm pretty excited with all this information we just learned to see Zoom and all the newcomers to the show. According to reports we will also be seeing Vandal Savage and Hawkman in the series. What do you think about Tony Todd taking on the role of Zoom? Comment below!

The Flash season two premieres Tuesday, Oct. 6 at 8 p.m. on the CW.
