With the MCU constantly expanding with new movies, and growing television shows we are moving towards a huge collection of iconic characters, and the newest film Ant-Man alone introduced us to eight new characters I hope we continue to see moving forward. One of the best moments in Ant-Man was seeing the interaction between Falcon and Scott Lang, I mean aren't these connections and cameos the best part of movies.
There are so many longstanding comic relationships that I'm still hoping we get to see soon!
Hulk and Spider-Man
This science duo would be pretty epic to see together! Banner and Parker, Hulk and Spidey. I would love to see Spider-Man trying to calm the Hulk in between dodging punches. With his Spider sense he could easily avoid getting clobbered by the Other Guy which would just fuel his anger, right?
Vision and Scarlet Witch
Even though these two have currently broke up in the comics they are still considered one of Marvel's hottest couples. The Vision with his simple and robotic mind trying to understand emotion and what it means to be human, pairing up with the Scarlet Witch, who's trying desperately to forget being human and losing everything she's had (which in the MCU includes losing her brother).
I'd love to see a solo movie about these two! Maybe a rom-com? Maybe they're on their honeymoon in Cancun when there's a terrorist attack? I love these two, Vision has been one of my favorite characters for over a decade and we need to see more of him!
Rocket, Groot and Iron Man
Recently in the comics Iron Man actually left Earth to join the Guardians of the Galaxy and he and Rocket had some great dialogue! Is there any fan out there who doesn't want to see these two throw one liners back and forth at each other? And I leave Groot in there to create a trio because I would love to see Tony frustrated with Groot's communication skills and Rocket commenting on how he can understand him and he's a third the size of Stark.
An All Girls Movie
Right now there's an ongoing comic called Avengers A-Force which is an all female Avengers team. How awesome would it be if we had a movie that just brought all the girls together? Widow, Wasp, the Witch, Ms Marvel....it would be freaking awesome! Maybe they could even use this time to introduce She-Hulk, or if we want some more green have Gamora hanging out on Earth after Infinity War and have her join in, I'd love to see her interact and even train other new heroines like Wasp and the Scarlet Witch!
It's not only time that we need a super heroine solo movie but we need tons more strong women characters who don't need any males to be their sidekicks!
Captain America and Punisher
With the announcement of Punisher joining the second season of Daredevil I got very excited! He's one of the darkest, but most popular characters yet to not appear in the MCU. However Captain America is an anchor to a film franchise, while Punisher is going to be a recurring character in a Netflix original series. So, unfortunately, the likelihood of these characters meeting is pretty minimal. I can dream though! I think that their polar opposite personalities would be so much fun to see together! Punisher just kills people to get what he wants and chalks it up to himself being the hero and taking out the bad guys. While Cap will go to extensive measures to save someone's life even if they don't deserve his protection. The fun part would be that both see themselves as a hero and see the other as someone who fails to accomplish the hero's duty.
Spider-Man and Daredevil
In the comics Daredevil and Spider-Man go way back. Spidey is much more of the streets-of-New-York type hero than he is the alien-battling Avengers. Early on in the comics each of these men learned the identity of the other but kept it a secret. This allowed them to more easily work together and take on foes they couldn't have single handedly. Even though, eventually, these two joined the Avengers (Murdock only if they need his help) their roots really do bind them together. I hope that we get at least a cameo from Daredevil in the new Spider-Man film!
Ant-Man and Hawkeye
Even with Ant-Man's solo movie I feel like both these characters are under appreciated! Hawkeye did get some recent love in Age of Ultron, but after that I just want more of him! These characters would be so fun together because Lang is just ridiculous but brilliant and Hawkeye just doesn't put up with ridiculous. I'm hoping that because Lang is appearing on Hawkeye's shoulder in the Captain America: Civil War promo art that we'll at least get to see Ant-Man fly on top of a Hawkeye arrow!
Marvel has already succeeded in bringing many characters together, I think that as the franchise moves forward we'll only see more intricacies, and crossovers! We have so much to look forward to!
