Okay, let's take a breather. Michael Shannon, who played General Zod in Man of Steel, has been going around making comments that don't add up, and now, everyone is on board that Doomsday is actually General Zod. Let's backtrace his comments on two separate occasions.

Shannon's Original Comments

We all saw the [Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice](tag:711870) trailer, or at least people who actually have a soul and we we're all really surprised to see General Zod in the form in the picture above. I first assumed at least that maybe it was just a cameo and Lex Luthor is just keeping onto his body and he finds kryptonite from Zod. Well, Zod died, he was brutally killed, so he looks dead at least in the trailer so we kept going with that. On August 20th, Shannon made the following flippin' (lol) comments:

I was in my costume, and I couldn’t use my fingers because in the sequel I have flippers instead of hands. So I had these wax flippers on my fingers, and I couldn’t open the door, and I could hear Zack (Snyder) being like, ‘Where’s Shannon? Where the (expletive) is he?’ and the whole crew was standing around. I was like, knocking on the door with my flippers, ‘Let me out of here!

Flippers!?! This is where the web exploded with all these dumb rumors that 'Michael Shannon Confirms he is Playing Doomsday!'. Wait, General Zod and Doomsday are completely different people, well Doomsday isn't a person so, villains to Superman. I don't recall in the comics they really have ever met, they probably have but nothing significant. If this was true, it would be the biggest middle finger to the character, like if the Joker was Jason Todd. Warner Brothers was probably furious and them and Shannon probably met to clear up the mess, which only further killed the situation.

Michael Shannon's New, BS Comments

Now, let's take it step by step to see what Shannon was trying to say.

"Somebody was asking me about this in New York and I made up some ridiculous bullshit answer about how my character Zod has flippers, and this went viral on the Internet or something and people have been asking me about that,” states Shannon. “That is so obviously a complete bullshit story, right? But people took it seriously."

This is not even all of his bullshit, but sure, we can start with this. First off, why would Michael even make these comments? You made up an elaborate story, so you just made that up? Your not obligated to tell 'someone' everything, he could've said something clever, like, 'you'll have to wait and see!' or some corny statement. This was a pretty ridiculous story and obviously this guy is or has relations to the press because, hey, they believed it and this 'someone' was not lying because Shannon said he said it, but he was lying. Fans will speculate every tiny thing and, flippers?! Let's see what else he said.

“I wasn’t there [on set],” he continues. “It’s a really awkward situation—I’m in the trailer for a movie that I didn’t work on. The thing about the whole Krypton universe, apparently, is that even when you destroy them, there are ghosts. [Man of Steel], Jor-El is there even though he’s been dead for lord knows how long. I went over and did some voice-over stuff because it’s like that ghost thing. But I don’t know if I’m supposed to say that. I get very nervous.”

Woah, woah, woah, this is unbelievable. First off, he was SEEN on set for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, there are official pictures. Shannon is the only one who is being awkward here and he had to work on that scene from the trailer, Lex Luthor was in it. The Jor-El thing, is, not accurate in the slightest bit. Also, if he is doing voice over roles, why is he on set?! He's also saying he's getting nervous because he shouldn't have said this! One, I'm pretty sure he said this because Warner Bros. we're pissed and plus, even if not, he already said dumb comments he shouldn't have said, why would he continue to do that? Shannon really tied himself up for this one!

So, the important question, is Zod really DOOMSDAY???

My answer for that is no other than, absoultely not! DC and Warner Brothers would not screw themselves over by making Lex Luthor taking Zod's body and turning him into Doomsday to fight and kill Superman! I also thing that Shannon really screwed himself over and his first story was true, not expecting the whole internet to hear it. They probably weren't actual flippers and being used for CGI purposes. His role in Batman v Superman is still pretty unknown besides the fact of what he's not, but he will play a role and something is fishy because all his stories don't match up, like, at all!

What's up with General Zod?

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is in theaters March 25th, 2016.
