My name is Juliet Lovett, I am a 21 year old girl from France and I started getting into special effects (SFX) makeup a year ago, when a friend asked me to do his Halloween makeup for him...
He sent me the video tutorial of the makeup type he wanted to try, so I could try it first, and that's how it started. I was amazed by what you could create with almost nothing and do super cool stuff. I tried, I loved it, and with my relatives' (and internet people's) encouragements, I kept going (until now).
I go from "little" injuries:
A deep paper cut
To bigger stuff:
Yes, that is Mileena ! I made a cosplay of her.
To recreations of what I see in TV shows or movies:
Princess Shireen Baratheon
But I also made one cute thing once!
Funny thing: I hate real life wounds and injuries haha!
I am a total amateur with no money. I asked for liquid latex and scar wax for my birthday because it's difficult to do SFX without it (but not impossible), and it's quite affordable. So remember, if you think it's cool you should totally try it :)
There are tons of great SFX makeup artists who do wonderful tutorial videos on YouTube (Bonnie Corban SFX, ellimac SFX, powdah...), you'll need to watch, to learn, to try, to fail, but eventually you will be able to recreate what you want!
