It was earlier this year when horror fans were notified that a prequel to Tobe Hooper's classic The Texas Chainsaw Massacre was in the works. This prequel will tell the story of how our chainsaw-wielding friend came to be Leatherface and will hopefully lead directly into the original film.

I have to admit, when I saw the new poster for Leatherface, I screamed louder than Sally being chased by Leatherface himself. As hard to believe as that may seem, I can't tell you how true it is. The newest poster is absolutely beautiful with the feet of a possible young Leatherface standing in, what looks to be, a puddle of blood. In the reflection of the poster, a chainsaw hangs down; foreshadowing bloody mayhem. Take a look below!

While the movie is being set for a 2016 release, no word has been given on an exact release date. There has been no news of a teaser trailer either. The film was penned by Seth M. Sherwood and will be directed by Inside's Julien Maury and Alexandre Bustillo.

In the film, a young nurse is kidnapped by a group of violent teens who escape from a mental hospital and take her on a road trip from hell. Pursued by an equally deranged lawman out for revenge, one of these teens is destined for tragedy and horrors that will destroy his mind, molding him into the monster we now call Leatherface.
