California based Thomas Kinkade describes himself as 'a simple boy with a brush,' but as far as we're concerned, his intricate artworks are anything but simple. This stunning collection of Disney artwork magically captures the beauty of Disney, and once you've seen the images below I'm sure you'll agree.
Each painting tells an entire story in a single image. Thomas uses a signature style called a “narrative panorama” to create a series which aims to touch the hearts of Disney fans worldwide, regardless of age.
Take a look at his creations below and let us know if you agree!
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
We poured ourselves into capturing the personalities of each of the Seven Dwarfs as well as portraying the Queen in the form of the Witch and Snow White herself. All added to the monumental complexity of the painted effort.
Cinderella - Clock Strikes Midnight
Clock Strikes Midnight captures the rich hues of the castle and moonlit sky, the beauty of Ella’s magical dress, and the brilliance of the golden carriage that awaits her.
The Little Mermaid
Prince Eric and Ariel are on a boat in the blue lagoon surrounded by Scuttle, Sebastian, Flounder and friends who have prepared the mood in hopes that the couple will find their enchanted love. There she sits across the way, will he kiss the girl?
Beauty and the Beast
Thom’s love of this classic Disney film and his vision for moments that might have been between the Beast and Belle, are painted with a captivating wonder that remind us of when we have been surprised by love.
Pinocchio Wishes Upon A Star
We see Pinocchio upon a hillside overlooking the setting of his adventures. We see Honest John and Geppetto's workshop where Pinocchio was formed. On the right we see Pleasure Island and Monstro the whale preparing to engulf Geppetto's sailing vessel. Butterflies and sparkles lend magical accents as the Blue Fairy and Jiminy Cricket look on.
Tangled reflects a master work of light and romance. This panoramic portrayal captures the newfound love of Rapunzel and Flynn as they boat together on her 18th birthday.
My painting is filled with the enchantment of the original story.
The Little Mermaid
I understand King Triton's concern and desire to protect his youngest from a relationship facing so many obstacles. But, I also recognize the desperate love Ariel feels towards Prince Eric and the purity of her belief that their love can conquer all. Love is powerful, love is captivating and first love absolutely enchants!
The Lion King
I imagined a lush, colorful, and bountiful African plain rightfully reestablished to its splendor after Simba vanquished Scar and his comedic, yet treacherous, hyenas each now forlorn in their punishment.
Lady and the Tramp
The lights glow as the sun sets on this beautiful Victorian city. The flowered foreground and the explosions of color in the foliage are homage to the romantic realism of the film. The nuanced panorama as a whole will engage the viewer again and again as hidden details are newly found.
Bambi’s First Year
To suggest the moment of Bambi's empowerment, I positioned him on a rocky precipice overlooking the terrain of his kingdom and the four seasons of his first year. If you look closely, Bambi's self-sacrificing mother can be seen, as a half hidden image upon the distant mountain
As they soar above Agrabah and the surrounding kingdom on a magic carpet ride, they discover a "whole new world" of adventure and love, and the realization that we only need "to be ourselves", not someone else, to find "true love" and that wondrous place for you and me.
