Finally, news on the block is that the classic Mega Man video game series is heading towards a feature film adaptation.

Yep, 20th Century Fox is partnering up with Chernin Entertainment to develop the movie. And considering this is the same development team that brought us the recent Planet of the Apes films, it is bound to be awesome! With such big guys on board, there's no doubt that loyal fans will get a fantastic video game to movie adaptation.

What's the storyline?

Well, if we're going by the plot in the classic video game, it goes something like this: Mega Man starts out as a robotic lab assistant to Dr. Light and Dr. Wiley, until the latter steals the others' designs to create evil robots. Mega Man has to face both of these villains, absorbing their abilities as he defeats them one by one!

What else do we know?

So far, it's unclear whether the movie will be CG animation or live-action. A few months back, we learned that there is also a new animation series in the works to be released in 2017, but we don't know yet whether it will be timed alongside this movie.

If you simply can't wait to find out more, perhaps feast your eyes on this awesome fan-made movie from last year. This is definitely Mega Man at its grittiest:
