But what they didn't know is that he just showed up on his own. After contacting officials at both carnival venues, it is confirmed that Wrinkles The Clown was not part of the show. So what was he doing there?
He was first spotted at the St. Elizabeth Seton Fair in Naples, Florida. Krislin Kreis, a local photographer, had gone to the fair on a rainy evening with DSLR in hand to capture some photos for her portfolio. What she didn't know, is that she was about to bump into Wrinkles The Clown. Once she spotted him, she decided to follow him at a safe distance and see if she could snap a few pics. "He wandered around the fair, in the rain like a lost puppy... it was actually kind of sad. Looked like he just wanted to be a part of the festivities" said Kreis.
After about 45 minutes of documenting him from afar, Wrinkles spotted her, gave her a wave and then disappeared into the night.
A few months later, Wrinkles showed up at the Collier County Fair. Unlike the St. Elizabeth Seton Fair, the County fair was packed with people. Wrinkles was spotted roaming around in crowds of people, most of them thinking he was just part of the act.
So now the big question is, why is Wrinkles showing up to the fair? Maybe he feels at home there? Will he show up at the fair again in the coming months? I guess time will tell. All we know is that he is still a mystery and quite a creepy one at that.
