We don't know much about [Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice](tag:711870), but the tiny snippets of information we've had so far seem to build a larger picture. In the run up to the film's release, fan speculation has been wild, with theories about everything from Doomsday, to Batman's death fakeout, to Lex Luthor's hairpieces.

And as little as we know about Batman vs Superman, we know even less about Gal Gadot's elusive Wonder Woman. Even her alliances are under suspicion, and many have theorised that she could actually be working for Lex Luthor. But just what is the connection between the two? And does Diana Prince's immortality hold the key to the mystery of Wonder Woman?

Wonder Woman in BvS: What We Know

She's... in the movie. That much we know for sure. The rest is mostly conjecture, but here are the possibilities.

  • She's working for Lex Luthor.
  • She's working for Bruce Wayne.
  • She's undercover at LexCorp conducting her own investigations.

Most of these theories are based on the fact that Diana Prince has been seen hanging around the LexCorp offices a lot whilst on set, and the trailer seemed to suggest she's got ulterior motives. The fact that she looked pretty gosh darn cosy with Bruce Wayne in promo photos also helped the idea that she's working with him...

But so far it's her connection to Lex Luthor that's the strongest. Could she be secretly working for the billionaire to stir up trouble between the superheroes? Or is she just using Luthor's obsession with her to her advantage?

The Woman Who Never Ages

Here's where Diana's origin story comes in. According to BleedingCool, Wonder Woman's solo film will be a period piece set in the 1920s. After a handsome pilot (Chris Pine) crash lands on the island of Themyscira, Diana takes it upon herself to return him to his home. And he just so happens to hail from 20s New York! This is a very exciting setting, with plenty of fun potential (superheroes and speakeasies? Heck yeah!).

How does this feed in to Batman v Superman? Well, according to rumours, Lex Luthor is harboring a bit of an obsession about a enigmatic woman who has been photographed for decades but never ages. Is this why he employed Diana: because he noticed her similarity to the mystery woman? Perhaps part of the Batman v Superman story will deal with Lex discovering Diana's secrets, while she uses his obsession with her to get close to him, so she can get all the information she's looking for.

Of course, the photos of Diana throughout the years could also prove to be an Easter egg, serving to set up the time period of Wonder Woman's solo film.

Batman v Superman is certainly shaping up to be a film of shifting alliances, with everyone hiding something. Personally, I'm wondering how long the straightforward Diana will be prepared to put up with this. In the comics, she's always been one to march into a situation and be up front about her intentions. After all, she does wield the lasso of truth... maybe the lasso will be the key to solving all the mysteries of Batman v Superman! It would be a pretty solution to finding out just what Lex is planning.

Until the film is released, however, we're just going to have to be content with theories and speculation. So what do you think: is Diana Prince working for Lex? And will her immortality betray her secret identity? Let us know in the comments, or write your own post!
