The trend for tugging on our nostalgic heartstrings and breathing new life into our cherished childhood classics shows no sign of ending just yet, and Nicktoons has just upped their game by announcing an epic crossover that echoes Marvel's much loved Avengers.

After announcing that Nickelodeon was reviving some of it's most beloved shows in 'fresh new ways' last week, Tracking-Board has reported that the new format will be an' Avengers-style' assembly of all of favorite toons, and a full length movie to boot.

According to the website who claims to be privy to 'Hollywood insider information,' the movie will be created by Paramount and be a hybrid of live action and animation, much like the '90s slam dunk Space Jam or the groundbreaking Who Framed Roger Rabbit.

Unfortunately, not all of our favorite Nicktoons have made the selection, but it's being reported that Rugrats, Angry Beavers, Hey Arnold!, Rocko’s Modern Life and Ren and Stimpy are all confirmed to have a space on the silver screen line up.

Current emotion.

If your '90s heart strings are quivering in fear at the prospect of your good memories being sullied, the news the movie is rumored to be fronted by Mary Parent, the woman behind the hilarious Spongebob Movie: A Sponge Out of Water, should be enough to put you at ease.

For those of us who have nerves to rival Ren's, Tracking-Board also issued a statement that sources have assured them that:

"The creators have no intentions to bastardize or update the characters unfavorably, only to create a fun adventure reuniting audiences with the treasured cartoons in an exciting new approach, pleasing old fans and creating new ones."

No reps for Nickelodeon have come forward to confirm or deny this rumor as of yet, so it's probably best to take it with a pinch of salt to avoid colossal disappointment, but I can't help but think which other toons should join the squad to make this line up complete. If I could see Doug as quailman or Invader Zim being forced to co-operate with a team, that would totally make this for me.

Please oh lords of Nickelodeon technicolor insanity, let this be true!
