According to The Hollywood Reporter, Kate Hudson is set to replace Rebel Wilson as the voice for one of the new characters in the upcoming DreamWorks film Kung Fu Panda 3.
Wilson was originally set to voice the character of Mei Mei, an "overeager" female panda "who is romantically obsessed with Po." In addition to her infatuation with Po, Mei Mei is also apparently as aspiring ribbon dancer, as well as a nunchuck wielder.
According to insiders, the production schedule for the film became extended, which forced Wilson to give up the role. With Hudson now taking over the reigns, animators will need to re-work some completed scenes in order to reflect her take on the character.
Jack Black, Angelina Jolie, Seth Rogen and Dustin Hoffman have also leant their voices to the film, reprising their roles from earlier Kung Fu Panda films, along with newcomers J.K. Simmons and Bryan Cranston.
