The insanely brilliant conceptual artist Fausto De Martini recently shared his unused designs for the Fantastic Four's robo-sidekick H.E.R.B.I.E. and the Fantasticar, which were planned to be given screen time in Josh Trank's ill-fated reboot, but were eventually canned.

De Martini's cute designs for H.E.R.B.I.E., seamlessly blend different designs of iconic cinematic droids, ranging from Johnny 5 to Star Wars: The Force Awaken's BB-8. The latter comparison coming as no surprise, due to Trank's prior attachment to a Star Wars Anthology movie:

And the Fantasticar is something straight out of nostalgic dreams! Modeled on a Lamborghini, a Dodge Charger and a van, each separate design is as ridiculous as they are brilliant:

For some reason, this design really reminds me of Inspector Gadget's transforming car...

D'you see what I mean? And this is in no way a bad thing!

The Fantasticar actually turns up in some Fantastic Four B-roll footage, which means it was actually created to be used. Alas, it was a damn shame it wasn't included:
