Filming for Season 2 of The Flash is speeding well ahead as planned, with E6 having just wrapped. And with that news comes the bombshell that when the hit series returns in October, the timeline will have jumped 6 months forward, meaning there will be some new faces loitering around S.T.A.R. Labs, and the arcs of the team will have changed dramatically.
But with the arrivals of Patty Spivot (Shantel VanSanten) and Jay Garrick (Teddy Sears), does this mean we may finally be getting to see Killer Frost in action? Please, oh pretty please!
In conversation with Collider at this year's Dragon Con, Danielle Panabaker, who plays Caitlin Snow, seemed just as in the blue as the rest of us when quizzed over the possible appearance of her character's, eventual, secret identity:
No one is more excited for Caitlin to become Killer Frost than I am. Unfortunately I don’t know when that will happen on the show. The writers will say, 'Well this is what’s going to happen. We’re looking forward to this. This is what we’re thinking.'
And then scripts evolve, sometimes they don’t make it into the script as soon as you hope, sometimes we shoot things that don’t even make it into the show.
I think our season finale was [an extra] 20 minutes long, so that’s 20 minutes of stuff that they cut out of storylines. Little things, like they explained how Caitlin asked Barry to go get her wedding dress, and they explained the toilets in the pipeline, and that sort of thing.
But since we only have 42, 44 minutes, some stuff just sort of falls to the cutting-room floor. Long story short, I’m useless in terms of Killer Frost.
Long story short, I’m useless in terms of Killer Frost. I want it to happen very, very badly. Unfortunately I don’t know that it’s happening yet
Take this with a pinch of salt, folks. We all know how much production companies like to play with our emotions! But, even though Killer Frost may not be making her long awaited appearance, season 2 of The Flash is shaping up to be a banger when it returns Oct. 6!
