Warner Bros. are rumoured to want more of Batman in 'Batman vs Superman'
It looks like Superman will be wedged further and further away from the limelight if a new report from Heroic Hollywood is to be believed.
The report suggests that Ben Affleck's Batman steals the scenes that him and Henry Cavill's Superman share and the studio is looking to capitalize on this by having more Batman, and less of Superman!
This isn't the first time that the studio have taken a liking to Affleck's take on the Caped Crusader. Earlier reports suggest that the standalone Batman movie has been expanded into a trilogy, that will become the cornerstone of the DC Expanded Universe.
The report even cites how much of an asset Batman is to the DCEU, with the Arkham Series taking the video game world by storm, and the Suicide Squad being centred around Batman villains.
The stars could also factor heavily into this decision. Affleck recently starred in two critically acclaimed films, Argo and Gone Girl, the former earning him an Oscar. Whereas Cavill has recently starred in Warner Bros. box office bomb 'The Man from U.N.C.L.E'.
Though that doesn't suggest that 'The Man from U.N.C.L.E' is the reason behind Cavill's Superman gaining less screen time, it is evidently clear that Affleck's star status combined with Batman's popularity has pipped Superman for the DCEU flagship hero.
