The day draws ever closer for the 2016 release of Eli Roth's demon spawn: The bloody reboot/homage for his 2002 flesh-eating viral horror Cabin Fever.

Director Travis Z helmed the project, released at some point in 2016 by IFC Midnight, turning Eli Roth and Randy Pearlstein's screenplay into a gruesome movie for all. The synopsis is as follows:

Cabin Fever follows a group of five college graduates who rent a cabin in the woods. Soon, all hell breaks loose, as the group falls victim to a flesh-eating virus that attracts the unwanted attention of the homicidal locals.

I wonder if the reboot will feature a nod to this grisly sex-scene-gone-wrong?

Director Travis Z enthused about the Cabin Fever reboot project:

It was a great opportunity to recreate an iconic film for a new generation of horror fans. I am a die hard fan of horror films and the king of horror Eli Roth trusted me to re-imagine his film. I was not going to fail.

Eli Roth is said to be 'blown away' by the Cabin Fever reboot, which is a good enough recommendation for me. Are you guys looking forward to the Cabin Fever reboot in 2016?
