If you haven't read day 1 you can find it here. If you haven't been following the 5 Day tv Challenge the challenges go like this:
- Day 1 - A Show I Binged Watched In One Sitting
- Day 2 - A Show I'm Embarrassed To Admit I've Never Seen
- Day 3 - A Show I Wasn't Allowed To Watch as a Kid, But Did Anyway
- Day 4 - A Show I've Watched Again And Again
- Day 5 - A Show I'm Embarrassingly Obsessed With
So as per the rules I choose a tv show that I'm embarrassed to admit I've never seen. There's plenty of old shows I haven't seen like Mash or the A-Team. There's never been too many that I'm ashamed to say I haven't seen. I've had shows I'm ashamed I haven't finished or continued like The Wire and Breaking Bad. Especially since it is extremely hard not to come across spoilers for Breaking Bad, but let's face it, like Dexter it was only going to end one way of two ways. Still no show has ever made made me feel quite as much grief about not having watched it as this one.
I've seen clips of the Sopranos pretty much against my will. The Sopranos ending was even outright spoiled in the song "I've Got A Little List" by Stewie Griffin in Family Guy. For good reason too, The Sopranos ended 8 years ago. Anyone who hasn't watched it yet either they're not going to watch it and don't care or they're just not very committed to seeing it. I've never watch a single episode of The Sopranos. I didn't watch HBO growing up so I didn't know about shows like The Sopranos and Six Feet Under. I was more obsessed with Showtime's like Dead Like Me. I didn't even know Sopranos was a show until like 2006.
Am I going to watch Sopranos anytime soon? Doubtful. If someone told me that after watching the Sopranos I'd suddenly become an incredible writer and see the whole world differently then I'd binge watch it immediately. For now though, it's just 86 hours of an older show that nobody really talks about anymore and between work, movie watching, tv watching and writing I just don't have that kind of time to waste even on tv gold. Plus I'm not even much of a fan of mafia movies. Unless it's someone taking on the mafia like Punisher. But movies or tv shows where the mob or the mafia were the anti-heroes or the main characters never really interested me. I just watched the Godfather movies last year and while good movies I still didn't do much to change my opinion. Still it is embarrassing to admit I haven't watched it since it is so universally praised and even my mom enjoyed it even though she didn't watch it religiously like we watch other shows.
