Teen Wolf News is reporting that Actor Dylan O’Brien’s “Maze Runner” road trip came to a screeching halt this week when the young star was incapacitated with a bout of food poisoning while promoting his new film in London.
O’Brien had several interviews set for Monday and was supposed to attend a special fan screening of “Maze Runner: Scorch Trials” later that night.
Shortly after he appeared Monday lunchtime to record some interviews for BBC Radio 1, it became clear that something was amiss. A number of reporters and media outlets broke the news via Twitter -
@TheStiffsUK -So sad to say our interview with dylan o'brien got cancelled today because he has a touch of food poisoning
@FrankieDaWriter - Fox just told us @dylanobrien can't complete the junkets cz he's taken very ill. Wish you a speedy recovery Dylan! Hope to see you next time
There were few details offered about the actor’s ills until later in the day when “Maze” co-star Kaya Scodelario announced to a group of fans that O’Brien was “vomiting out of everywhere.” She and the other actors brought his message of love to the crowd prior to the screening.
By Tuesday evening O’Brien had recovered enough to resume his schedule. He made an appearance at the Apple Store in Covent Garden and it seemed that whatever had been ailing him had mostly passed.
O’Brien’s BBC interviews are expected to run this weekend. Details are here. "Maze Runner: Scorch Trials" hits US cinemas on September 17.
It is unclear when O'Brien plans to return to the Teen Wolf set where actors and crew are currently filming the second half of Season 5.
