WARNING: Possible MAJOR spoilers for Season 6 of The Walking Dead and The Walking Dead comic series ahead.

Read at your own risk...

Seriously.

Season 6 of The Walking Dead may be weeks away from premiering, but that doesn't mean filming on the season has wrapped just yet. With the cast still toiling away making zombie nightmares come true, a fan over on The Spoiling Dead Fans Facebook page snapped a picture which may indicate a huge, and well-known storyline from the comic series is about to hit screens.

Fans of the comic series will be familiar with the 'No Way Out' storyline, which takes place just after Pete was shot by Rick, and a small attack by a group of scavengers. Due to the gunshots during the fight with the Scavengers, walkers are attracted to the area and Alexandria becomes completely overrun by a massive herd. In the midst of the attack, Rick tries to get Carl, Jessie and her son Ron to safety by smearing them with walker guts to walk through a crowd of walkers (call back to Season 1!). Unfortunately during the attempt Jessie and Ron are attacked by walkers, while Carl and Rick manage to escape. However, moments later Carl is shot in the eye by a crazed Douglas Monroe (whose known as Deanna Monroe in the TV series). He lives, though is left with a gnarly hole in his head.

For a long time fans of the comic series have wondered whether or not 'No Way Out' would ever been worked into the TV series, but it was only with the release of the Comic-Con trailer in July that it seemed as though it was pretty much confirmed. The detail that was a little harder to confirm, though, is whether or not Carl would get his eye shot out - after all, in the comic series Rick Grimes lost his hand at the very beginning of the apocalypse, and the TV show opted not to adapt that.

However, this is where The Spoiling Dead Fans comes in. Though they have not had the information 100% confirmed, according to their sources (who in the past have been extremely accurate with their information) Carl will be shot in eye in an episode of The Walking Dead in the first half of Season 6, most probably in the mid-season finale. Adding more to this theory was the fact that a fan going by the user name Emthippi, was able to snap these pictures of Chandler Riggs on-set, in his Carl Grimes costume with a bandage over his eye:

If this is true it will undoubtedly be a massive storyline for Season 6, not to mention huge for the development of Carl as a character. The Spoiling Dead Fans also mention in their information that the way Carl loses his eye will be slightly different in the TV series, with Jessie's other son shooting Carl intentionally, rather than a crazy Deanna doing it accidentally.

Adding to all the tantalizing hints and tidbits we've bene getting, recently at Fan Expo Canada 2015, Chandler Riggs was asked for his favorite line from the show, with Riggs replying that it's coming in the upcoming season. Could it possibly be the famous "...Dad?" line that Carl utters just after he's shot? Unfortunately we'll have to wait to find out!

The Walking Dead returns to AMC on October 11th.
