According to Deadline.com, the ultimate movie clash between the two biggest beasts on screen will happen sometime in the coming years. Legendary Pictures is moving it's new Kong franchise opening film Kong: Skull Island from Universal to Warner Bros. where it will join the Godzilla franchise. With both franchises under the same proverbial roof, the clash will eventually happen.

Kong: Skull Island is due to be released on March 10, 2017 while Godzilla 2 is set to be released on June 8, 2018. Mike Fleming Jr. of Deadline states:

"the Godzilla sequel that is in the works will be followed by a movie that pits the giant ape versus the giant fire breathing reptile. Iā€™m told this is happening very quickly with moves going all the way to Japan, where Godzilla rights holder Toho is based. Legendary, which moved from Warner Bros to Universal, had developed the Skull Island film at the latter studio."

So while all the details have yet to be unveiled, this is genuinely exciting news for moviegoers! I was a big fan of the original King Kong vs. Godzilla and am thrilled to hear that the project stands a high chance of being re-incarnated! It would be awesome to think what these two creatures could do on screen with today's special effects!

Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting news! :)
