I grew up playing Dr. Mario with my grandparents on their old Nintendo system, so I learned very quickly the art of blowing into the cartridge. I would stay up way past my bedtime watching my mom play the Legend of Zelda until I too was old enough to play, and the most difficult decision I had as a kid was whether or not I was going to grow up to be The Little Mermaid, or Sailor Moon. Celebrating my birthday two days before Halloween, I've also always had a love for dressing up, often getting older with a new costume themed party every year. So I'm not sure what took me so long to combine my love of video games and my favorite fictional characters with my love for dressing up. Appropriately, my first official cosplay ever, was Mario.

It's been just a year since I first attempted any sort of cosplay. I've yet to properly shoot any of my costumes so until then here are some snapshots taken of each cosplay that I've done so far, in order from earliest, to the most recent.

I do plan on doing official shoots for most of my cosplay costumes, similar to the last two snapshots above, and will definitely feature each shoot on this blog when they become available. Until then, I'd LOVE to hear feedback. What do you think? Do you have questions or want to know more? Or have suggestions for future cosplays? Talk to me!

I already have plans for FanExpo 2016, and am excited continue sharing my cosplay journey here on Moviepilot. Stay tuned for more, because this is only the beginning!
