There is a reason Michael Jackson is the King. In just sheer talent alone Michael is light years above Madonna. He was a prolific song writer and his dancing talents were born not made. I can't think of one person I know that would put any of Madonna performances in the same class as watching Michael Jackson perform "Billie Jean" live on stage. Even Madonna admitted that she didn't have a great voice. Halftime show? Mr. Jackson still holds the record of the most watched superbowl performance of all time. He earned countless awards that piled on well into the 90's when Madonna was losing out to people like Janet Jackson. Its really not fair for poor Madonna to be compared to the King of Pop. Maybe a better contest for her would be to vie for the Queen of Pop title against Janet. Janet seemed to have topped her in the 90s and then Britney, Gaga and Beyonce.... Madonna heyday was the 80s. MIchael Jackson is the only artist to have had a number one hit in 5 consecutive decades 70s, 80s, 90s 00s, 10s....yes even after his death he has scored #1 albums/hit singles. 2001 Invincible #1 with Break of Dawn and You Rock My World #1 singles. Invincible is a most underrated album and is the Album of the Decade for the 2000s. 2010 Michael at #1. 2014 XSCAPE at #1 and hit single Love Never Felt So Good. Lastly on stage, Madonna relied on gimmicks beefcake dancers and spectacle. With Michael you got Michael...raw and talented as always.
