Who's excited for the nostalgic trip down memory lane? I know I am. Who could forget the badass pastel colored group that could morph into warriors and take on the world?
The Power Rangers have taken their sweet time to come back to the silver screen since the release of 1995's Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers. News has just dropped that filming is starting soon for the mighty return of Power Rangers.
The cameras of the new Power Rangers movie will start rolling this winter when filming begins in Vancouver. Yvrshoots has dropped the news that filming is expected to start January 18th and wrap April 12th of next year. This does not seem like heaps of time to me, but dates are subject to change, and I know nothing about filmmaking.
Hang onto your lycra as there are only a few months to go until filming begins. Which means that we will hopefully get to see some previews for the movie soon.
The film is being directed by Dean Israelite (Project Almanac), and the movie will be based on a screenplay written by Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz (X-Men: First Class).
The rumors are circling that the new movie will feature the original Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers characters Jason, Zack, Kimberly, Billy and Trini, but the characters will be totally re-envisioned. I have a feeling this is going to get pretty kick-ass! Rita Repulsa and her loyal followers better be prepared, I sense more battles ahead.
Power Rangers is scheduled for release on January 13, 2017.
