17-year old animal conservationist Bindi Irwin has just totally wowed America with her breathtaking transition from the bush to the ballroom, when she took to the Dancing With the Stars dance floor on Monday.
In a beautiful tribute to her dad, the late Steve Irwin, Bindi chose the most fitting song for her dance - Elton John’s classic hit “Crocodile Rock''. As the song filled the studio, Bindi and her dance partner Derek Hough entertained America with their energetic performance.
Before hitting the dance floor, Irwin explained that she was performing in honor of her father
''I'm Bindi Irwin and I'm 17-years-old. And my Dad is the amazing Steve Irwin, my hero.''
Her Dad was filled with emotion whenever he saw Bindi dancing
''Mom always says that any time dad would watch me dance around the zoo he would cry, I think the real reason I am doing this is to make him proud and everyone back at home in Australia proud. I think that everyone back home in Australia is going to see a whole new side of Bindi.''
And we really did see a whole new side to Bindi. As she took to the dance floor she proved that she is a total natural at jiving.
The judges were completely blown away by her performance. Judge Carrie Ann Inaba told Bindi
''You are a superstar! If this was 30 years ago, I would want to be your best friend. Your energy is so contagious!''
The outspoken Bruno Tonioli proclaimed Bindi is
''The wonder from down under!''
Whilst judge Julianne Hough could barely hold her excitement together, telling the dancing couple that their dance was
''The best performance of the night.''
Bindi scored incredibly high points.
The young activist and her dance partner Derek Hough earned 8 points from each judge, scoring an epic 24 points out of a possible 30. Later in the evening Nick Carter and Sharna Burgess tied with Bindi when they gave the final performance of the night.
Bindi was overjoyed at how her performance went too.
''This experience. I am grateful beyond words for tonight. Thank you all and especially my life coach & dance partner #TeamCrikey''

It's so sweet how Bindi finds her passion for life from being inspired by her dad Steve who was tragically killed in a stingray attack in 2006 she told ENews.
“I think for me, Dad will always be my superhero. You know, everything I do in life is to make him proud and to carry on his legacy, and so I really am dedicating this entire—however long I’m able to make it—to him, to my family, to other people who are in a similar position. You know, after you lose a person like that, you feel like the sun will never shine again, but it will, and it may not shine as brightly, but you have to find that light in everything that you do. I feel like this experience, getting to work with Derek and the beautiful people on this show, has really been such a bright place for me, and I’m excited to focus all of my energy on doing the best job possible,”
