So I know I'm rather late to the Bloodborne bandwagon, with me finally getting a PS4 and a copy of the game late August this year. But it hasn't stopped me from being absorbed into the nightmarish world filled with monsters and other eldritch horrors, with a pistol in one hand and a Saw Cleaver in the other. With the announcement that From Software has sold over 2 million copies of Bloodborne, you can tell that I wasn't the only one excited for their release of the upcoming Bloodborne DLC 'The Old Hunters' on PS4.

If you missed the trailer, you can check it out below!

And, of course, all you hunters out there will be getting a number of awesome things as we head back into Yharnam!

Explore Byrgenworth's Darkest Secrets

The release of 'The Old Hunters' allows players to delve into the nightmares of the hunters that once guarded Byrgenworth's darkest secrets. Bloodborne producer Masaaki Yamagiwa had this to say on the PlayStation Blog:

Set in a nightmare world where hunters from the past are trapped forever, explore brand new stages full of dangers, rewards, and deadly beasts to overcome. You’ll find multiple new outfits and weapons to add to your arsenal as well as additional magic to wield and add more variety to your combat strategy.

With new story details, learn the tale of hunters who once made Yharnam their hunting grounds, meet new NPCs, and discover another side of the history and world of Bloodborne.

Creepy surroundings and pools of blood? Better grab my Saw Cleaver.

New Arsenal to Battle the Nightmare

As Yamagiwa mentioned above, 'The Old Hunters' sees players equipped with all manner of new outfits, weapons, and magic to assist you in your beast-slaying adventures. The trailer showcases many of these new additions, but there were two weapons that really stood out in my mind. First of which is this awesome rotating saw-blade cleaver.

Now THAT looks like it can do some damage!

Not to be confused with the current Saw Cleaver that is the staple weapon of Bloodborne, this rotating saw-blade cleaver will not only guarantee that your enemies fall before you, but that you'll be having tonnes of fun killing them.

The second weapon, which will please all you Souls fans, is the return of the bow and arrow - in the form of Simon's Bowblade. With this, you too can live out your Katniss Everdeen fantasies in the gaming world...did I say that out loud?

I guess he volunteered as tribute.

Visiting the Old and the New in Yharnam

Along with the new story and new arsenal, players will also get to visit familiar and new places around the infamous city of Yharnam. In the trailer, we get to see hunters fighting through the streets of Yharnam, in the snowy castle of Cainhurst, and even the most notorious area of the 'Tomb of Oedon' where you fight fallen hunter, Father Gascoigne. But have no fear - even though we visit familiar locations, there will be newer enemies to make us curse and throw our controllers to the ground.

Ah, we meet again Father Gascoigne.

Final Details

'The Old Hunters' is set for release on the 24th of November at the price of $19.99 USD from the PlayStation Network. In the mean time, sharpen those weapons and farm for Blood Echoes (that's the in-game currency, for all you non-hunters)...it's time to go back to Yharnam.
