The first trailer for Jon Favreau's live action/CG Jungle Book feature has hit the web and shows off some incredibly stunning visuals and call backs to the original Disney classic.

Director of Iron Man and last years Chef, Jon Favreau is taking on the iconic story of The Jungle Book, the story of Mowgli, a young boy stranded in the jungle and taken in by a bear and a panther. Every one knows the story, mainly from the 1967 Disney classic.

The live action adaptation of that story looks absolutely incredible but I can't help but be slightly disappointed by the trailer. A few weeks ago the footage debuted at D23 and reports say that they showed a lot more footage at that convention, including a lot more dialogue. Here our only dialogue is from Kaa the snake played by Scarlett Johansson (Avengers: Age Of Ultron). I love the footage that we got here, it's visually grand, the action and spectacle look fantastic and I love the approach to the characters and their real world design.

The voice cast also includes Bill Murray (Ghostbusters) as Baloo, Ben Kingsley (Iron Man 3) as Bagheera, Idris Elba (Pacific Rim) as Shere Khan, Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad) as Akela, Lupita N'yongo (Star Wars: The Force Awakens) as Raksha and Christopher Walken (Seven Psychopaths) as King Louie.

I should also note there is a second Jungle Book film on the way in 2017 directed by performance capture pioneer Andy Serkis (Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes) and will serve as his directorial debut.

The Jungle Book hits theaters April 15th 2016.
