There are a lot of great games out there to play with friends. And what better game to play with friends than the co-op effort between video game titans Sonic the Hedgehog (Sega) and Mario (Nintendo)? Yes, that's right. Both game developers teamed up with the Winter Olympics to bring you a game that's part Mario, part Sonic, and all awesome! There are a multiplicity of characters from both franchises represented, and there are numerous sports to choose from. My personal favorites include snowball fighting (is that actually a legit Olympic sport?!) and ice hockey. There are the classic Olympic events such as bobsledding, curling, ski jumping, snowboarding, and ice hockey, and then there are also what are referred to as "Dream Events". The Dream Events include some of the same activities as the Olympic Events, but also a few that are not part of the regular events, such as hang-gliding and snowball fighting, just to name two. My favorite activity in both categories is ice hockey. I've assembled the perfect four person, er, creature, um, character team! I have Bowser on offense, Bowser Jr. and Tails on defense, and Yoshi in the goal. It's a solid team and my friends all hate me for it. Which is why whenever we play, I generally get banned from using that specific assemblage. In Dream Ice Hockey, however, I have a home turf advantage because the event is played in Bowser Castle, which, ironically, has a fire-breathing statue of Bowser right next to the ice hockey rink. And it's surrounded by a lake of molten lava. That was BRILLIANT planning, Bowser. Sorry, I got off on a tangent there. The point is, this game is perfect to play with friends, whether you want one-on-one action, two-on-two, one-on-three, or even the whole bunch of you against the computer, Mario and Sonic At the Olympic Winter Games has been forcing awkward team-ups since 2010!
