I think I hear the roaring of crowds all over the world as we learn that creator, writer, and star of Absolutely Fabulous, Jennifer Saunders confirms to the world that the AbFab movie is definitely a go. After teasing us for four years following the release of the show's 20th-anniversary specials, the time has finally come. The film, currently slated for a 2016 release, is expected to begin filming in October.

England residents were first introduced to the eccentric PR lady, Edina Monsoon, in a sketch for French and Saunders co-starring AbFab creator, Jennifer Saunders and her comedy partner of many years, Dawn French. In the skit, French portrayed Edina's bookworm and polar opposite daughter, Saffron, a role that would later be played by English actress, Julia Sawalha.

The role of Patsy Stone was created when the comedic duo decided to take the sketch to the next level and write it into a full series. Actress and former model, Joanna Lumley was chosen because of her recent and hilarious stint on Ruby Wax Meets. They made the right choice. Joanna Lumley would later express her deep love of Patsy by saying, "Nobody else will play Patsy as long as I'm alive." And we wouldn't want anyone else to.

The quirky roles of Bubble and Edina's often confused mother were given to English actresses, Jane Horrocks playing Bubble, and June Whitfield playing Edina's mother, respectively.

Saunders said her plan is to include every person who ever made a guest appearance on the show. That is a long, long, list. Celebrities who have landed guest spots on the show include Whoopie Goldberg, Helena Bonham Carter, Idris Elba, Debbie Harry, Elton John, Yoko Ono, Emma Bunton, Stella McCartney, and a kleptomaniac Minnie Driver.

Saunders said she would like actors such as Glee's Chris Colfer, media sensation Kim Kardashian, comedian Rebel Wilson, and One Direction's Harry Styles to appear in the big screen adaptation.

We can only hope that these five amazing women will bring the same charm, wit, and blunders to the big screen adaptation that they did for the show that spans only a handful of episodes, but twenty long and memorable years.
