Next year, the X-Men franchise will reach its peak as they are set to release three films featuring many ideal X-Men characters. When fans received a first look at Oscar Isaac as the iconic X-Men villain 'Apocalypse', they were stunned by how uncanny the costume seemed. Some like it, some don't, and some just don't understand it!
Sticking to the comics?
What look were they going for when designing Apocalypse's costume? X-Men producer, Simon Kinberg, recently stated in an interview with MTV that they're heading for more of a science-fiction look for Apocalypse in the upcoming film "X-Men: Apocalypse".
“I feel like we have been, the X-Men franchise, has been growing a little bit more into science fiction. I think Days of Future Past with time travel and the Sentinels took us into a slightly broader, more science fiction world than the films had occupied in the past, we felt like the movies were ready for something that was slightly more, let’s say, cosmic. Once we made the decision for Apocalypse to be the villain at the center of the movie, we wanted to be true to the comics, which are sort of, like you, say, not costume, but it’s not just a guy in a helmet. It is more cosmic.”
After the release of "[X-Men: Days Of Future Past](tag:203942)", Simon believes that the franchise should be more extensive towards the Sci-Fi genre since the X-Men films are starting to get a lot more 'cosmic'. Since they introduced time travel, and evil robots, the X-Men franchise is in fact heading to become more of a science-fiction franchise.
[X-Men: Apocalypse](tag:1194267) will be released to theaters on May 27, 2016 featuring, James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Evan Peters, and Rose Byrne, and new X-Men actors such as, Tye Sheridan (Cyclops), Alexandra Shipp (Storm), Sophie Turner (Jean Grey), Kodi Smit-McPhee (Nightcrawler), Ben Hardy (as Angel), Lana Condor (Jubilee) and Oscar Isaac (Apocalypse).
