I've seen a lot of awesome shows. The Flash, Arrow, Supernatural, the latter of which I'm admittedly (and understandably) obsessed with. But me and TV don't always get along very well. I'm never able to keep up with the set times that television shows have. I'm fine for the first few episodes, but eventually, I stop watching.

What if I'm doing something at 8/7 central on Tuesday nights? Or what if I simply just don't want to turn on the TV at that time? It's my laziness that stopped me from checking out what's been called one of the greatest shows on television; Empire.

Empire stars Terrence Howard as hip hop mogul and Empire Entertainment CEO, Lucious Lyon. Lucious finds out that he has ALS, and in an effort to find the right heir for his business, he pits his three talented sons against each other. I know all this because of the internet, not because I've ever seen an episode.

To tell you the truth, I was really excited to see this show when I first heard about it. It looked interesting enough for me to dedicate a certain hour of my life every week to it. But when time came for the show to finally premiere, I didn't even turn the TV on.

I don't know what I was doing that day, or if I was doing anything at all. But one thing's for sure, I wasn't watching Empire. After that, I just didn't bother to catch up with the show. Weeks passed, and all of a sudden, season 1 was over and the world was in love with it.

All of a sudden, everyone was talking about the show. The characters, the music, the story, everyone I knew and everyone I didn't know was in love with it all. And I stuck out a like a sore thumb.

My friends and family would come over, talking about the show. When I entered the room, they had to go into "filtered mode" to avoid spoilers. To this day, I still haven't seen a single episode of this supposedly incredible show!

Recently, I've finally gotten Hulu, and the first thing I plan to do with it is catch up on the shows I need to catch up on; starting with Empire! I'm honestly hoping that it lives up to its reputation, because I REALLY want to get into this show. Oh well, I guess I'll know for sure soon if Empire is the show for me!
