Have you ever found yourself in the middle of a movie that has you on the edge of your seat? The plot is gripping, the characters are fascinating and at this point you wouldn't pause even for a life-or-death scenario. All of a sudden a new character appears. You recognize the actor from somewhere, something, but you can't recall exactly what it was. Before you know it you've gone on a mental rabbit trail and missed a crucial point in the movie. That's all it takes for the rest of the experience to fall flat.

So Let's Put an End to It!

What if we could prevent these jarring realizations from happening in the first place? While it may not be much, I'm willing to do my part. I selected an upcoming movie and after some research and detective work I am proud to present several people you just might recognize in Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials!

1) Lili Taylor

*clap clap*

Lili Taylor first graced the silver screen in the late 1980's. Born in Illinois to an artist and hardware store operator, she launched into the acting world right out of school when she appeared in the 1988 movie Mystic Pizza alongside Julia Roberts. While you might remember seeing her in Say Anything or I Shot Andy Warhol, she is more famously known for her turns as tormented mother Carolyn Perron in The Conjuring and as the gruff Captain Sandra Maldonado in the short-lived future-crime show Almost Human. Look for her portrayal of Mary in The Scorch Trials, but until then check out her impressive resume'!

2) Aidan Gillen

What a stud
What a stud

I realize most of you will recognize this Irish actor right off the bat, but I couldn't pass up an opportunity to write about such a legend! Aidan Gillen was born in 1968, and at the current point in his long and impressive career he's widely known for his role as the conniving Petyr 'Littlefinger' Baelish in Game of Thrones. Now while it's arguable that Gillen is even more famous for playing the ambitious Tommy Carcetti in the critically acclaimed series The Wire, most people don't even recognize one of his most famous roles to date: the agent who interrogates Bane and his cronies on a plane at the beginning of The Dark Knight Rises. He's sure to shine as the sinister Janson in The Scorch Trials.

3) Giancarlo Esposito

Can you feel the intensity?

Here's another face that you're sure to recognize from somewhere. Giancarlo Esposito was born in Denmark to a singer and stagehand, and when the family moved to Manhattan six years later all of the pieces fell into place. After his start on Broadway he found his way into all corners of media: he sang the theme song for the popular 70's show The Electric Company and appeared on shows like Homicide: Life on the Street and Law and Order, to name a few. His most popular role is widely considered to be as ruthless drug kingpin Gus Fring in Breaking Bad, although his portrayal of tragic assistant Gilbert Lawson in Community was incredibly well received by fans. While it will be months before we get to see his full performance as Akela in Disney's live-action The Jungle Book, you'll get to see him as Jorge in The Scorch Trials.

4) Barry Pepper

Tensions are high
Tensions are high

While Canadian actor Barry Pepper has led an interesting career, his early life is like something out of a book. At age five his family set sail on a boat they made with their own hands, and for the next five years he grew up sailing around the South Pacific Islands and began developing his acting skills for entertainment. After the family returned to Canada he continued to pursue his passion. While he only landed television or made-for-TV movies at first, his persistence and talent won him the role of the stoutly religious Private Jackson in Saving Private Ryan. Since then he's played many military-esque roles, namely Dean Stanton in The Green Mile and Lucky Ned Pepper in the revamped True Grit. Be on the lookout for his portrayal of Vince in The Scorch Trials.
