Hello guys. I am writing this article primarily to distinguish between the two upcoming epics, Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice and Captain America: Civil War. Many people think that both the films are about heroes fighting heroes, but it isn't exactly the case. There are many differences in the approach of both the films.
Let's see some differences between the former and the latter.
5. Civil War is mostly about contradictions between the heroes, but Batman v Superman is mostly about point of view.
The heading might be tricky but is tactful. In Civil War Tony Stark and Steve Rogers have a conflict about some particular matter, with heavy involvement of Government and S.H.I.E.L.D . At this instant,we are not sure about what the matter is,but I am sure it will be a reasonable one.The other heroes and audience split on both sides of the screen, based on their opinion about that matter. But Batman v Supes is different. It is completely based on the point of view about that situation.Supes messed up Metropolis in Man of Steel, where thousands of people died.Technically, there was no fault of superman but still for the destruction,he is held responsible. But bats is coming to take him down as he believes that supes is responsible for the death of many people, and he knows the value of one life.It is about which way you think.
4. Batman vs Superman is a fresh concept and Captain America: Civil War is based on the Civil War comics.
This ones obvious.Batman v Superman is based on man of steel incidents.Though references of some great comic books would be made,it is a completely fresh concept.Meanwhile Cap Civil War,is an onscreen adaptation of the civil war comics.Though some important changes would be made in the plot to shape it into the MCU,the principal skeleton will be the same.
3.Batman v Superman is mostly about the face off between Bat and Supes, while Civil War is a WAR between two teams, led by Cap and Iron Man.
Batman v Superman is defintely a face off between the stars on multiple occasions. They fight each other but finally at a point, they must agree with each other. It heavily focusses on how two heroes with different point of views, finally get together, which means that both are right in their own ways.Civil War on the other hand is an intense WAR between team Iron Man and team Cap,where they fight regarding a particular matter or an incident. There are a bunch of other heroes, spilt into both the teams, who fight each other. While some guys just neutrally or ficklemindedly stick around. It is gonna show the heroes get their hands dirty as political drama is involved.
2 .Civil War takes place in an established universe, whereas Batman vs Superman establishes a universe.
In Civil War,it follows incidents in an already well established universe.Cap and Iron Man know each other well. But Batman v Superman is not happening in an already established universe. It only follows the events that happened in Man of Steel.Further,BvS is the platform,or the building block for the formation of the Justice League and also a well established DCEU.
1. Batman vs Superman heavily focuses on both Batman and Superman, but Civil War is based on Captain America primarily, as the title itself suggests.
Batman v Superman is a sequel of Man of Steel,so ofcourse it is superman centric, but still it is heavily focussed on batman too as he must be introduced in this Man of Steel universe. On the other hand Civil War is sequel of Cap Winter Soldier and is Captain America centric.Agreed that Iron Man plays a cruicial part but it is Captain America's arena.
* Wonder Woman's crucial role in Batman v Superman.
When you talk about BvS, Wonder Woman must be definitely mentioned. This character is sure to have fair amount of screen time in the film. Here is a random fan edit which is literally mind blowing.
*Spiderman's cameo in Capatin America Civil War.
Our friendly neighbourhood is finally in the MCU.I am sure that he will get the loudest cheer.Tom Holland's spiderman will definitely boost Civil War.
