Tic-tic-boom! Hear him banging down these back streets. Ninety-nine, baby. On the grind, baby. All the time, baby. It's Ice Cube as Scrooge, baby!
Comin' straight outta Universal Pictures, Cube will be playing Ebenezer Scrooge in Humbug, a contemporary retelling of the Charles Dicken's classic, A Christmas Carol. Ebenezer Cube will play a Scrooge-esque estate agent, menacing the streets until he's shown the righteous path by the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future.
Cube, who is currently enjoying the massive success of Straight Outta Compton, Universal's NWA biopic which grossed $156 million at the domestic box office on a $28 million budget, will also be producing Humbug alongside Jeff Kwatinetz (Black Knight, Big Momma’s House).
The script for Humbug was written by Todd R. Jones and Earl Richey Jones and will be directed by the guy behind Barbershop and Ride Along, Tim Story. The Jones brothers (Rio and Johnson Family Vacation) will be serving as co-producers.
I don't know about you, but Ice Cube being set straight by three ghosts sounds like excellent viewing to me. When this movie is released, it will be a good day.
