One Batch, Two Batch, Penny And A Dime

Fans have been reveling in anticipation for Eli Roth's latest project, The Green Inferno, for quite some time. The cannibalistic horror story of a group of environmentalists who get captured by a tribe deep in the Amazon rain forest instantly captured fans' collective attention.

The build up for this film has been immense and thanks to Moviepilot, two fellow Creators and I got the opportunity to screen the film in Miami. Does Eli Roth's latest project go the distance?

Living up to its gory expectations

The Green Inferno was a film where I thought I had a pretty good idea of what to expect going in, but as I left the theater, I realized my expectations had been completely inaccurate in some ways, and I loved that. Mainly, I had expected just an all-out gore fest, and while it definitely was in most aspects, the one thing that made the movie for me was the humor thrown in at the most unexpected of times. But it all seemed to flow perfectly.

A roller coaster of emotions

The Green Inferno had me disturbed, sad, and laughing all at the same time. The level of emotion I felt throughout the film was outstanding.

There are some very gruesome scenes and the movie is definitely not for the weak-stomached. Viewers beware. If you are one that has a tendency for nausea at the site of disturbing images, then stay away from this film.

However, if you are like me and love to just have a blast at the cinema and experience that shock value that this film brings then The Green Inferno is perfect for you. It was a fun film overall that I happily enjoyed watching.

Eli Roth at his finest

Will this film win an Oscar for best cinematography? No. Will the cast win an award for best performance? No. But It is one hell of a fun ride.

Eli Roth prides himself on the shock value and disturbing content of his films. This was established early on with his Hostel films, and he went and upped the ante with The Green Inferno. Only Eli Roth could come up with some of the crazy moments that are in this film. He's a sick-minded individual in the creative sense, and that translates so well in the cinematic one. His influence is all over this film as he is both the director and producer and I don't think anyone else could have done it better. Roth is a true horror legend and a legend in the world of filmmaking.

The Green Inferno is a blast!

With The Green Inferno, I constantly found myself on the edge of my seat waiting to see what would happen next. It will instill a fear deep inside and you will walk out of that theater truly disturbed - but with a smile on your face. Whether you're a fan of horror, indie movies, Eli Roth, or just awesomeness in general, you definitely need to give The Green Inferno a look. I highly recommend it!

Thank you again to the staff at Moviepilot who made this screening possible and thank you to Eli Roth for making such an outstanding film. Check it out!

Grade: 9.2/10
